Cpl Denis John Donnelly AK was a Corporal Clerk with 104 Sig Sqn and was killed at the Australian base, Nui Dat, Phuoc Tuy, South Vietnam when his was cleaning his 9mm F1 sub-machine gun and it accidentally discharged on the morning of the 9 August 1967.

104 Signal Squadon (104 Sig Sqn) now serves as one of the two combat signal squadrons as part of the 1st Combat Signal Regiment (1CSR).  1CSR also has a Headquarter Squadron (HQ Sqn) that does the role of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF), Headquarter Company (HQ Coy) from the Vietnam War.  Plaques at 1CSR  honours both 104 Sig Sqn and 1ATF HQ Coy war dead.  We will never forget!
